Tanagra wine farm, situated in the exquisite town of McGregor forming part of the Robertson valley wine route, is passionately owned and operated by Robert and Annette Rosenbach. With Anette's family background steeped in the cultivation of vines in the Moselle valley Germany, Robert and Anette fulfilled the pursuit of their dreams by emigrating to South Africa and acquiring Tanagra in 2009.

Prior to settling in McGregor Anette held a profession in liguistics whilst Robert consulted in commerce. Their love of open spaces, nature, gastronomy and wine, were all met during their travels in South Africa in 1996. As a result, the luring challenge of owning and managing a wine farm in South Africa took hold.

Within 8 months several buildings were restored and converted into the quaint guesthouses of today. Whilst renovations were underway, all resources were employed into the continutation of daily wine cellar and farming activities. In 2009 a distillery was errected on the farm using equipment sourced directly from Germany.
