Allesverloren

is located on the slopes of the Kasteelberg in the Riebeek Valley and is one of the long-established wineries of South Africa's Swartland. The estate's history dates back to 1704. The name means “all lost” and recalls a fire that destroyed the house and farm at the time.

Allesverloren has been closely associated with the Malan family since 1872. Today, the sixth generation continues the winery's story. Fanie and Daniëlle Malan combine their family's experience with the contemporary development of the estate.

The vineyards extend across elevations between 170 and 350 metres. Ancient shale soils, weathered sandstone, warm, dry summers and cooling westerly winds shape the conditions on the Kasteelberg. The different elevations and aspects make it possible to match grape varieties precisely to suitable parcels.

Allesverloren is particularly known for full-bodied red wines and South African fortified wines. The range includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Tinta Barocca, as well as Chenin Blanc and a rosé made from Tinta Barocca. With Cape Vintage, Fine Old Vintage Reserve and Red Muscadel, the winery also maintains its long tradition of powerful and complex dessert and fortified wines.

In the cellar, traditional open fermenters meet modern stainless steel tanks. Depending on grape variety and style, the wines are matured, blended and aged so that their fruit, structure and Swartland origin remain clearly recognisable.
