Deep ruby red, this Merlot is a powerful yet elegant representative of the Banghoek sites. The nose reveals aromas of ripe plums, black cherries and dark berries, accompanied by fine spice and a hint of earth. On the palate, the wine is concentrated and balanced, with ripe, well-integrated tannins and a long, harmonious finish. A classic Merlot with depth, structure and South African precision. Vinification:
The Merlot grapes are hand-harvested and strictly selected. After temperature-controlled fermentation, the wine matures for around 16 months in French oak barrels, predominantly new. The restrained use of oak adds complexity and depth without masking the ripe fruit.
 
Food pairing:
Braised leg of lamb, beef fillet, duck breast, mature hard cheese and lentil curry with roasted flavours.
