This Pinotage shows a deep garnet-red colour. The aroma is intense and persistent, with notes of cherries and red berries. On the palate it offers excellent concentration with pronounced flavours of plums, cherries, strawberries and black pepper, supported by subtly spicy oak notes on the finish.

Vinification:
The grapes were harvested by hand. A portion was left with the stems, and the wine was fermented in open stainless-steel tanks with pump-overs four times a day. The fermenting Pinotage was pressed before fermentation was complete, and fermentation was finished in barrel. Malolactic fermentation also took place in barrel, and the wine then matured for a further 18 months in French oak barrels, 10% of which were new.
 
Food pairing:
This wine is an excellent companion to roasts and game. It also has a particular ability to pair well with dishes containing spicy elements, such as curries and bobotie.
