Spier Creative Block 8 2023 from Spier Wines comes from the Coastal Region. This red wine combines dark fruit, spice and a structured style with a distinctly South African character. The blend comprises 34% Pinotage, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Shiraz, 14% Merlot, 9% Cinsaut, 3% Malbec, 3% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc.
 
Vinification:
Each grape variety is hand-picked, fermented separately and matured for 16 months in 300-litre French oak barrels. The oak regime consists of 30% new, 40% second-fill and 30% third-fill barrels. After blending, the cuvée matures for a further two months.
 
Pairs well with:
grilled meat, BBQ, spicy stews and mature cheese.
