The ongoing commitment and resolve of Sterhuis to preserve and develop the family owned estate is aptly captured in their credo which states "There is no easy way from earth to the stars".

The steadfast commitment of Sterhuis to improving operations, infrastructure and the establishment of vineyards planted to grape varieties most conducive to the individual microclimates of the varying slopes is clear for all to see. The farm was purchased in 1980 and has since undergone immense transformation to include plantings of noble grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot alongside the valiant 33 year old, bush vine Chenin Blanc vineyards. Additional grape varieties continue to be planted in accordance with research conducted into aspect, slope, elevation and soil types.

The vineyards at Sterhuis are exposed to a moderate, oceanic climate. Viticultural practises focus on reduced yields whilst ensuring consistent, balanced crops paving the way to a bright and prosporous future for Sterhuis.
