Du Toitskloof is a well-known producer of a wide range of red and white wines. Du Toitskloof is situated at the entrance of the Du Toitskloof pass in close proximity to Rawsonville and forms part of the Breede River Ward. Du Toitskloof was originally established as a cooperative comprising of six winegrowers in 1962. Today the cooperative includes 22 members many of which are from the generation of the original partners. They have formed a close community amongst each other and live within a 10 kilometer radius from the winery. In April 2005, in partnership with Origin Wines, Du Toitskloof launched a program to markedly improve the living conditions of the farm workers. In September of the same year Du Toitskloof became Fair Trade accredited. All of the 22 members are Fair Trade accredited today with more than 1 600 labourers benefitting from the social upliftment and education programs.

The aim of Du Toitskloof is to produce premium quality wines at affordable prices. The high volume of production is not to negatively affect the quality of the wines. Considerable investments have been made in the cellar to ensure quality and freshness of the wines. Du Toitskloof has been awarded 5 times to date for producer of best quality wines versus price. Du Toitskloof Sauvignon Blanc 2012 was ranked amongst the top ten in the FNB Sauvignon Blanc Top 10 competition, an outstanding achievement given that most of these wines cost three times as much and are produced in much smaller quantities.

The stony soils of the area are well suited to the cultivation of vines whilst the early shadow cast over the vines in summer allows for long ripening periods and intense aromas in the wines.
